Women’s Fellowship
The Women’s Fellowship meets on a Tuesday afternoon between 1-3pm. We gather for a simple, but tasty meal at 1pm provided by a small team of ladies and once a month we have a Bring and Share meal which is always very interesting.
About 20-25 ladies come each week. They tend to be mainly older ladies, but anyone is welcome
During the meeting, which begins at 2pm, we enjoy listening to speakers, watching videos, having DIY meetings (when we chose hymns, favourite Bible passages and share testimonies), praying for our missionaries (monthly) and studying a passage from the Bible (monthly). Last year, in our Bible Studies we looked at Women in the Old Testament and currently we are looking at Women in the New Testament.
We have a Carol Service just before Christmas with a special guest speaker and at Easter we enjoy a roast pork dinner before listening to another guest speaker.
Our annual trip to the seaside takes place on the first Tuesday in July. This past year we went to Southend-on-Sea. We spend the day on the beach or looking around the shops and then have a fish and chip meal together before our return to London.
A highlight of this past year was an extra outing in May when our pastor (who is a church historian) took us to Bunhill Fields in the city. This is a non-conformist cemetery where many famous non-conformists, such as John Bunyan, are buried. We had an extremely interesting afternoon.
I think we are a friendly group ladies who are always pleased to welcome new members to our meetings.
