Sunday Meetings

The church gathers every Sunday to worship God and celebrate his grace to us in Jesus Christ. The 10:30 am and 5:00 pm meetings are in English and the 1:30 pm meeting is in Russian (see the separate page). In these meetings preaching and teaching from the Bible is central as we listen to God’s word being proclaimed, explained and applied and respond with the praise of our lips and lives. Everyone is welcome to these meetings.

 Sunday mornings at 10:30

This is the main weekly meeting of the church. On an average Sunday 150 to 200 people will be present. The service is structured in a classic Protestant manner, but with a contemporary accent. The minister or one of the elders leads the meeting. There are older and newer hymns and songs accompanied by a music group, prayers, readings from the Bible and a sermon or talk. Children under 14 leave after about half an hour for Sunday School classes during the sermon. Normally the minister preaches through a book or section of the Bible. The Lord’s Supper is celebrated on the first Sunday of every month. Occasionally there is a Guest or Family Service.

 Sunday afternoons at 5:00

This meeting is more informal than the 10:30 meeting. We meet in a smaller room that makes participation easier and allows questions after the sermon. The meeting is for everyone, but is especially appropriate for new or young Christians or for people wanting find out more about the Christian faith and life. The Lord’s Supper is celebrated on the third Sunday of every month.
