YOUTH PROJECT

The church has developed a basement youth centre and runs several activity sessions for local 11-19 year olds with funding from the London Borough of Tower Hamlets, Poplar HARCA, Eastend Homes and others. The Friday night session is run in partnership with Poplar HARCA. During 2009-10 we have been running girls only sessions in conjunction with two local secondary schools, and this term we have started a girls after-school club on a Friday afternoons.

We run a range of activities on site during the evening sessions including indoor football, badminton, pool, table tennis, X-Box games, discussions, board games and music. We also offer a range of mini-projects including cooking, art, DIY and fitness. The lunch time session includes discussions, games and a range of creative arts such as card making, clay modelling and jewellery making.

During the school holidays we offer trips out and residentials, often with adventure activities such as mountain biking, climbing and camping.
