Building Project 2025

Building Project 2025

We are carrying out essential repairs to our church building which is now 70 years old - mainly to the concrete elements on the roof and around the windows.

Please be patient and bear with us if there is a little bit of disruption while we do this!

We are cleaning, repairing and repainting the coping stones on top of our parapet walls, as well as the concrete lintels and cills above and below the windows.

The lead flashings over the concrete lintels have also failed, so we are replacing all of them with GreenCoat colour coated steel.

The work should hopefully take 3-4 months, from May to August.

Thank God for £36,900 in Grants

And thank you to our generous funders too!!

The Garfield Weston Foundation  £20,000

The National Churches Trust  £12,000

The Benefact Trust  £4,900

Adding these to the £70,000 we raised through our own appeal last summer, as well as some historic reserves in our Building Fund, we have raised £120,000 towards our target of £138,000.

Could you help us raise the last £18,000?

We've decided to start our Building Project during the summer months so that we can get it done while it's dry, and get the doors to our Community Centre re-opened as soon as possible!

However we're still £18,000 short of our total target, so if you could help us raise the last 13% of the funding that we need, we would be really grateful!

You can give via a Bank Transfer (details here) and mark it "Building Fund".  Thank you!
